Sister Black!

Today the person that inspires me is my big sister, Sister Marissa Black Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. Today I drove to Provo and dropped my amazing sister off at the Missionary Training Center. She is headed to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to teach others the gospel. I am so proud of her and she is a hug role model to me. She inspires me to be a better person, to watch what i am doing and make sure i am on the right path. She has taught me to laugh, smile and to let things go. I will miss my big sister so much in the next 18 months but i know she is doing what she needs to be doing. I want to continue to be myself but maybe be a little bit better self from the example of my sister. Love You Riss!!

Get in shape!!

So its sunny, warm and super gorgeous outside!! Its spring and this spring i have been inspired to get in shape and go running! I have been hit with spring fever of exercising and its incredible! Well i am off to enjoy the awesome weather and i hope everyone else is too!!

Spring also inspires me to try new things, explore and find something bright and cheery to feel my day!! Wow spring inspires me a lot!! 

KISS Life!!

So life has been kind of crazy lately and a little stressful but i have been inspired to remember to breath and Kiss life. Now for all you out there that don't know what K.I.S.S stands for i will example. KISS=Keep It Simple Silly. Life is amazing and can bring a smile onto my face if i just enjoy the journey and love what is happening at exacting this moment, and this moment and this moment. Stop always looking for the next best thing and look around you at all the amazing incredible things happening to you right now. Life doesn't have to be super stressful or overwhelming if we just kiss it everyday and keep things a little more simple and not over complicate things. Take on task at a time and be patient. If i but KISS my life everyday i know i will find more joy and find i have more time to enjoy!!

Be a good friend!

A goal in my life is to be a good friend. A few things that inspire me to reach this goal is my family, people that are good friends to me, and Toy Story 3 the movie. I will keep striving to be a friend that when someone needs to talk they will call me. I will strive to be a friend that people can hold on to and know i will never let them fall. I will also strive to find friends like this, for myself, especially in my future husband. I want him to be my best friend and i want to be his.

Today Disneyland inspired me to keep moving forward, do my best and be happy. In a week from today I am off to the happiest place on earth, with my incredible family (minus my brother who couldn't get off work). These week i have to get caught up in homework and get ahead as well, plus really push myself to get everything done. Even though it seems overwhelming at times the sight of the princess castle and tower of terror keeps me moving forward and pushes me to do my very best. It also inspires me to put a smile on my face, i mean how can you not when you think of Disneyland. Ha Ha this week is going to be awesome.

My childhood inspires me to smile and find out who i am!

The other day, I found a picture of me when i was 1 and half. It is one of my favorite pictures of myself. I have really curly red hair, deep blue eyes and a huge grin on my face, being super adorable. I have since hung it on my wall and look at it to remind me to be happy, smile and relax. Life is good and i can do anything. My little self inspires me to be happy and be me.

try a little harder to be a little better!

I am inspired to work a little hard, do a little better, and to be a little bit better. This week I lost a dear friend of mine, my grandma. She passed away on Wednesday. She was an amazing women, wife, grandma, great-grandma, mom and friend. I love her so much. As she has passed and I have been thinking about her she has inspired me to strive to be better and reach my goals. Goals like making a difference, like being a good friend, or living everyday to the fullest, but most importantly she has inspired me to be me and to strive to reach my personal goals of family and happiness. I love my grandma and am so grateful to have gotten to know her.

Be yourself!! and the self you want!

So i was driving down the rode the other day and saw a bright green car and at first i thought that is really ugly and bold, who would do that and then it hit me. That car is so them, who ever the driver was it was them. And seeing that inspired me to think that you can really being whomever and whatever you want. It doesn't matter what others think. You can be crazy, wild, awesome, fantastic, green, yellow, purple, or blue. You can be whatever you want the only person stopping you is you. So go out and be a crazy green car or whatever you want to be.

Feeling pretty!

Today i am inspired to feel pretty. I have tried to come up with the perfect recipe to feel pretty and i don't think i have perfected it  yet but here a a few ideas.
1. Enhance the beauty of your face, put on some makeup, but don't over do it. Makeup doesn't change your beauty it just makes your already pretty features pop!!
2. Add some curls! I find actually doing my hair cute and putting some effort into makes me feel so good and pretty.

3. Cute outfit! This can different for everyone. Find an outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks and than make that one outfit into you style. For me it is my favorite pair of jeans and a cute bright shirt, that maybe shows off some of those fun curves of mine BUT remember Modest Is Hottest! :)

4. A cute handbag. I finally found a cute purse that i love and i think very much describes me and the person i am  trying to be. Weather you need a small purse or a Mary Poppins bag you caring your life in it, it might as well make you feel pretty.

5. Shoes! the perfect shoe! i don't even know how to describe my love for tennis shoes. But I have some family members that love shoes, my sisters Rylee and Marissa and my cousin Candance and oh man don't they have cute shoes and they are all so pretty.
6. Accessories are a girls best friend and pull a outfit together. A necklace or earrings can take an outfit to the next level and definitely make your natural beauty pop.

7. More importantly than anything else you can put on  your body to make you feel pretty is a smile. Smiles not only make you feel pretty but everyone else around you. Smiles make your eyes jump, your teeth sparkle and your whole face glow. Smiles is the perfect finishing touch to an outfit. And remember to always smile because you never know who is falling in love with it.

8. The last and most important ingredient to my perfect recipe to feeling pretty is.....looking in the mirror (go right now) and tell yourself over and over again that you are a child of god, a daughter or son of god that is beautiful and loved.


Now if you can't get all these ingredients that is just fine. Some of them are like nuts or chocolate aren't essential but a nice surprise if you can. But the ingredients you must have, the flour and sugar is number 8 and 9 you must have a smile and know you are a loved child of god. Now i feel so much prettier and i hope you do too!
Ps. this may work for some but not everyone so find what makes you feel pretty and then use it and use it again. You are pretty so find something that reminds you of that everyday. And remember it doesn't have to be a boys approval! :)

Lines Who Knew?

So who knew there were so many different lines in the design. There are horizontal, vertical, diagonal, and Curvilinear, plus all those that who can't tell what exactly they are. Not only are there many different types, each type of line does something different. 

Horizontal is used to make areas look smaller, wider and more intimate. This back porch has many horizontal lines, and has a welcoming, intimate, peaceful feeling about it. It is a place away from the world even if it maybe on top of a city.

Vertical  lines are meant to make a space, whether a room or body, look longer and more open. The green and blue picture on the side of the room makes the space look longer and more open. Wearing vertical stripes  makes a person look thinner and taller. 

Diagonal design

Diagonal  so i love this book shelf!! it is so awesome. Diagonal lines are suppose to flatter things and throw some interest and drama into a room. Diagonal lines put a little wow into a room, doing something a slanted and crazy makes the room interesting. I think this is true about life too. When you get out of your comfort zone and do something a little crazy you add flair into your life, making you a little more interesting. Getting out of my comfort zone is actually one of my 2012 goals, so we will see if i seem more interesting at the end of the year. 

Curved design

Curvilinear   Now doesn't this look like a Cinderella Staircase. I can just imagine her coming down in her beautiful gown down this staircase. My little sister just got asked to prom and i kind of wish we had a Cinderella staircase for her to come down, in her beautiful dress. Well Curved design is used to create more famine drama and aspects, as well to catch attention. 

Design is really so complex but interesting at the same time. I have many lines in my life and in many ways influence and inspire me, both in good and bad ways. .  

Yellow!!

So today i wore yellow!! You may be asking yourself why, well i will tell you. I wore yellow today because it inspires me to be happy and positive. I had a friend growing up you was always so positive, happy and perky and her favorite color was yellow. Every time i see the color yellow i think of Rachel and a smile grows on my face. Yellow is such a bright and powerful color that brings sunshine to everyday and inspires me to always smile!

                     

History of Design

Wow! Design has changed so much over time. Our society has come a long way sense cave drawings. Looking around my Apartment bedroom my roommate and i have designed our bedroom to be us. We have pictures on the walls, cute bed spreads and lots of color. What did a bedroom look like in the early days of history, i wonder? And what will a bedroom look like in 100 years. My bedroom describes who i am and looking around there are things, all around me that describe what inspires me and what i hold dear. Namely family, friends, disney, fun, and so much more. I wonder what your room says about you and how it describes you.
